XXX Flight: 2009-0121-1 in N6015F (BE23) for $
KPDK - KPDK (flying time 1:6)
Flight Notes:
First ride in 6 weeks after just 3 weeks of instruction... I'm going to blame the interesting bits on chop from ground to 4000 MSL + being in a different plane... Yeah, that's it; a different plane...
Tried out a low-wing as we look at buying into one. Nice and solid with shoulder room; should be comfortable. Also a nice down pic; kept riding with the nose too high :-)
TO not too bad and prob to be expected after time off. Have done much better, but we lived :-) Needed a lot of rt rudder, just like Louie, and I'm not sure I *ever* got coordinated. Hrmmm... Steep turns OK but needed to be steeper + back pressure; that's a matter of getting the picture and the feel, though, for sure. Slow flt OK and actually had some trouble getting it to stall :-) although also not as coordinated as I'd like.
Landing was interesting. Caught an extra gust of cross which was fun BUT somehow had things reversed and so turned left when rt wing went up. Yikes! Good thing he caught that one. Went around again and this one was distinctly better; prob all about new plane and new wings instead of losing my mind.
Definitely need to fly more often than this. Knew we would need CFI time to practice and cement what we learned, but was bummed that just one hour wasn't enough. Phooey. It will come, though ... if we can just get into that plane and quit paying rental rates!
