Flight: 2014-0930-1 in N172DP (Delta Papa) for $
KGMU - KCNI (flying time 1:2)
I've had a lovely visit in Greenville, but it's time to go home -- so I'll get some complex time! :-)
From KGMU (Greenville Downtown Airport) 2014-09-30 22:29:30 to KCNI (Cherokee County Municipal Airport) 2014-09-30 23:31:21 [01:02:00] with 1 day and 0 night landings.

Had a great ride in Delta Papa (even though we were flying straight into the sun, and thanks to Laura for the loan of her sunglasses!) and got to know her a bit. She's definitely quick; we did the whole thing in 1.0 even with a climb to 6500. We had a few bumps along the way which made control interesting enough to be fun, and it was very interesting to watch the manifold pressure adjust itself without any throttle change.
I was a good boy and I flew a proper pattern to get myself set up, remembering my flaps challenges in Penny as well as going through the proper checklist for DP, and was doing fairly well when, I think, the bottom fell out just before touchdown. Madi said later that I barely missed banging the tail, but I have to admit that I was afraid I'd bang the *wing*! I caught it OK & straightened up and we settled in just fine, but YIKES. Hindsight analysis suggests that I let me speed drop just a bit too much and lost my lift prematurely, but I should also have heard the stall warning on the way in that case, so I'm not 100% sure. Dan smirked and chalked it up to 'unfamiliar craft', and I'll take that for now :-)
