David Thorburn-Gundlach (pilot-L) / Yanek Martinson (passenger) / Lukas Martinson (passenger) / Kalev Martinson (passenger) /
Leg Notes:
We headed out on 16 and down first to Jekyll. Bearing in mind :-) the picture for my passengers, I flew just offshore so that the beach was out the right window. Down we went past the hotels and over some sunbathers to then circle around the bottom end.
We had the biplanes sightseeing in the neighborhood, too, so we kept an eye out for them as they came up from Cumberland or so. I swung around the water park and the South side before turning North past the field for the sound.
The boys asked for a landing at Jekyll, but we were on a tight schedule, so I compromised with a touch-n-go.

From 09J (Jekyll Island Airport) 2013-07-02 16:21:09 to KSSI (Malcolm McKinnon Airport) 2013-07-02 16:45:27 [00:24:00] with 1 day and 0 night landings.
Yanek Martinson (passenger) / Lukas Martinson (passenger) / Kalev Martinson (passenger) /
Leg Notes:
From the airport I banked around to the left (for a change) over the village and then headed for the sail bridge, explaining the name along the way and jokingly asking if the Sidney Lanier Bridge led to tLake Sidney Lanier :-) We took a few turns around and also looked at the old roadway, the former shipyard(?) rails that went down into the water, and the many pilings of (probably) an old pier.
From there, we headed across the village (again trying to keep things on my right) and up the beach through Sea Island before turning South for a run back down. We spotted the gazebo as well as the park oak trees where we climbed around the evening before, too :-)
From there it was North to cross over the airport before coming in on 16 to finish the circle and enjoy a lovely landing. How great that they came to visit :-)
