KSSI - KCNI (flying time 2:47)
Let's go home! We've had a wonderful break, but now we're all looking forward to our pets and our own beds again. Fueled up, new tank cap confirmed, and with great weather, we're ready to go.
From KSSI (Malcolm McKinnon Airport) 2012-04-07 15:46:04 to KCNI (Cherokee County Municipal Airport) 2012-04-07 18:33:40 [02:47:00] with 1 day and 0 night landings.

Followed a microjet at taxi and takeoff. Heard him, as we turned crosswind, going for IFR to PDK -- from 4k ft on the way to FL 220 :-) I suspect he beat us home! We had a lovely flight, though; the ride was nice, although a little choppy, and I got to foggle most of it for good practice. Yay! And we again had no problem being in the air for almost three hours; yay again. If the girls (and L & I, for that matter) can do this effectively, then we're in good shape for family trips, which will be awesome.
The only wrinkle was my approach to, and landing at, CNI; I wasn't set up well, and so Laura gave me some helpful advice (eg a throttle RPM setting), but I was so busy flying the plane that I then added to my load by trying to analyze it rather than just listening and doing it. Arrrgh! I need to make the switch to 'student' better in that sort of case. Anyway, it was a nice landing when it finally happened and, woo hoo, we were finally home! What an awesome trip :-)
